The P&O profession is an emerging health profession in Nigeria. There is a need to create awareness and let people get to know more about the profession in Nigeria. Here are some tips I have noted to help us create an awareness on Prosthetic and Orthotic Services in Nigeria:
- Leverage on social media: Use of social media is the fastest and most effective way of creating awareness about any profession. You can create awareness on P&O using different social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and even WhatsApp. Write engaging contents or forward contents written by your colleagues.
- Blogging and Vlogging: This is also an excellent way of creating awareness. When you start up a blogging or vlogging carrier on P&O, you can write interesting contents to help spread the word about P&O to the general public, that way, people will get to know more about the profession.
- Podcasting: Just like blogging and vlogging, podcasting is also an excellent way of reaching out to the public to talk about P&O. Using your voice, you can speak about P&O related topics that you are passionate about, giving your audience the opportunity to learn more about P&O in Nigeria.
- Talk about your Profession: Talking about your profession is the best way to create an awareness. Starting from your neighbor next door, your classmates, peers, friends etc. You should communicate with them and let them know what P&O is all about. They will in turn tell others about P&O and help you create an awareness about the profession.
- Organize Webinars: Organizing webinars and seminars is another avenue to create an awareness. You can invite guest speakers to teach on some selected topics of your choice. You can also volunteer to host a session as an invitee on a webinar. This will offer you the opportunity to teach or make impact in the lives of people while creating an awareness about your profession.
