A knee brace is often recommended for people who have knee injury in order to limit the range of motion and reduce pain. Here are some tips to help you wear it properly.
- Donning: To don a brace properly, it is advisable to wear a short. If you are putting on trousers, you will have to roll it up above your knee. Next, put in your foot from the widest part of the brace and carefully pull it up.
- Alignment: Align the brace such that the center is at your knee cap. If it is a knee brace with a small hole, the hole should be placed directly on your knee cap.
- Strapping: Start by fastening the strap on the lower part of the brace to gain more stability and then the upper part. Make sure it is tight but not too tight. If it is a compression sleeve, all you need to do is don it rightly and you are good to go.
- Follow the instructions given by your prosthetist if you are still confused.
